Officers of the Cal-IPC Student Chapter are responsible for keeping students up to date with activities around the state and helping to oragnize outreach events and maintain communication with the local community.

The California Invasive Plant Council has student representation on its Board of Directors, which sets the organization's vision and many of its activities. Because of constraints on student schedules, student members of the board are in a liaison position-allowing for one-year terms that coincide with the academic year (terms beginning the 1st of June and ending the 31st of May each year).
