Santa Rosa Plateau Bull Thistle Weeding Day

The Cal-IPC Student Chapter spent a day weeding bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare) on the reserve. Heather, Mike, Sarah, Matt, Jason, and Kai worked on a warm spring morning to clear a half acre of thistle from a previous pecan grove. Seedlings will need to be removed in a subsequent weeding day. Moist soils have stimulated germination of a second crop of weeds. We have our work cut out for us.
